If you haven't noticed by now, we are no longer using the name HYPE MINISTRY anymore to describe our teen ministry at the BCC. We are now calling our teen ministry YOBCC. YOBCC simply means Youth of the BCC. YOBCC is the overall name of the youth ministry at the BCC and HYPE is a ministry within or hosted by the youth of the BCC. So, do we still have HYPE on Wednesday nights? Well, not at this current time. HYPE ministry is currently under construction. We are still in the planning stages to understand the purpose of our teen ministry on Wednesday nights. Please be patient with us as we wait on the Lord's revealed plan of Wednesday night HYPE!
In the meantime, we have added the ministry 10X (pronounced TEN TIMES) in reference to Daniel 1: 20. "And in every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king required of them, he founded them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters that were in all his kingdom."
YOBCC's desire for 10x is to have more contact with our teens so we can help teens cultivate their God given gifts and dreams, while challenging them to live in a way worthy of the call of God on their lives just like Daniel and his friends. It is our hope that the teens we connect with in Ames would be found ten times more capable than those around them.
10X meets twice a month during our 10:30 am service on Sunday.
Come and check us out!

Who do you follow?
In today's social media culture it's important who and how you stay connected. People use terms such as follow me on my blog or my twitter account. However, it can be a dangerous thing to just follow people just to stay socially connected. You may find yourself getting attached to that person's words or their personality.
Jesus said in John 10:27"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow me."Don’t get attached to anyone’s personality but Christ alone.
I’ve seen it before, a young teen is on fire for the Lord. Every event that Stacy, the youth Director has Erica is there. Stacy asks, "does anyone wants to help feed the homeless on Saturday morning at the shelter from 8am to 10am?", Erica is there. Stacy asks questions during her message at Wednesday night bible study, Erica enthusiastically raises her hand and answers the questions without embarrassment. Erica is at every event that Stacy is hosting. Stacy announces that she will no longer be the youth director because she is moving to Africa to start youth churches and minister to homeless children. Erica no longer attends youth events at the church like she once did.
She says that church is boring. What happened? To no fault to Stacy, Erica was attached to Stacy and not Christ. It happens on Sundays when the senior pastor is not preaching, members stay at home, the main choir is not singing, members are not that engaged during praise and worship… Christ is the only personality that we should be attached to. Where he goes we go, where He leads we should follow. Let us be the ones who attached our selves to the person of Jesus Christ, besides He is the one who gave His life for you! Who do you follow?
